WELCOME TO THE BSA FRONT WHEEL DRIVE CLUB
Established March 1959
Thank you for your interest in BSA cars; as you browse through the various parts of this site you will become aware that this is a club run by enthusiasts for enthusiasts. The marque is very special in that BSA (Birmingham Small Arms company) were virtual pioneers of Front Wheel Drive technology in the UK, and made FWD cars, three-wheelers and a few vans between 1929 and 1940.
This club was formed in March 1959 to cater for the needs of owners of these vehicles, which represent some of the first in the world with front-wheel drive, hence our name. In the last few years we have extended a welcome to owners of rear wheel drive BSA cars, who care for and drive many fine examples of these vehicles dating from before the first world war through to the mid-thirties. The club currently has 231 members in 14 countries with 246 cars spanning 9 different models on the club register.
The club is a member of the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs. Formed in 1961, FBHVC represents the interests of the “Older Vehicle Movement” in the UK to Government Departments and authorities.
Some Club Activities
The club publishes a monthly magazine which is distributed to all club members with recent copies archived in a digital format on this web site.
Besides interesting articles about club events and from club members it carries regular technical articles and updates on available spares and BSA vehicles for sale.
The club holds a monthly zoom meeting for club members on the third Thursday of each month. These ‘virtual’ meetings have become an excellent way to ‘meet' other members (including committee members) , and have become a valuable part of the “club experience’.
Members can forward any questions or other matters they wish to discuss in advance, especially technical or regulatory issues, so that any necessary research can be done in time for the meeting.
We hold and attend many rallies and meetings during the year which are in a calendar on the News & Events page. Some of the events are specifically for club members while others are public events in which club members participate.

The club has a vast collection of the original factory technical drawings which are available in printed or digital format to club members. These are of great assistance in the maintenance and restoration of BSA cars and have been invaluable for the production of new components for club members.
There is a large range of items of 'regalia' available to members including technical manuals, high quality copies of original BSA posters and various club items.
The club has an active spares scheme with both new and used spares available. The scheme is self financing and many parts are made to order by various engineering companies. Being in possession of most of the factory drawings gives the club a huge cost advantage when parts are made as the supplier does not have to draw up the part before manufacture.
It is also possible for members to place an advert on this website for either buying or selling BSA cars and spare parts.
